The room was outstanding and beautiful with a queen bed, just what we needed. Everything was spotless. This hotel was set in a central area close to most areas, the beach and restaurants, and the alley. We appreciated being there.

Great choice for weekend. Incredibly friendly hotel in a great and incredible location right at the beach. Immaculate room with a kitchenette, very kind and nice staff. Location close to `` downtown '', restaurants and shops and the coast...
Beds were too firm.

This is an older place, typical sea side motel. Room clean/beds comfortable/ lots of storage in our room. Drove to beach/stores but you could walk if you did not have a lot of stuff to carry.Shower clean and water pressure good. Front desk staff very nice. Picky teenage children liked it.....
Screens on windows in poor condition (torn/frame bent) ceiling fan needs to be balanced (looked like it would take off from ceiling) don't count on a filling breakfast experience......no room a/c (we did not need, but since you could not leave windows open due to screen condition, this may be a problem for others)

I have been staying at The Dolphin Inn with my Husband for years. It is the only affordable place left to stay in Cayucos. The owners are friendly and it's a very short walk to beach access.
It's not what you would call luxurious, but it has everything you need for a few days of a beach getaway.

The Dolphin Inn is old but is in the process of being renovated. It is clean, the bed was comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator both of which were clean and functioning more than I can say for a major chain we stayed in that cost more than twice as much.

A bargain at $49 per night midweek. A very basic old-school place with limited amenities and dated furniture/decor, but with a clean and comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Short walk to main drag and beach.
Walls are thin. You will know if neighbouring rooms are occupied.

The owners are obviously working to spruce the place up. It's not quite finished. My room needed a new shower door; the one I had only closed if you stuck a wad of toilet paper between the door and the frame. It's an old property, about a block from the beach and right on the main drag within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again.
There were two obnoxious young boys making a lot of noise and disturbing everyone. I asked the owners to speak to them, but nothing improved.
